Quality of print – Both models will make good quality prints, but laser tends to be the clearer of the two. Like the name says, inkjets spray ink on the paper so they aren’t as crisp looking as a good quality laser printer.  However, for most homes or small businesses, an inkjet will work just fine.  Specialized occupations that have to provide specific paper documentation (lawyer, CPA, etc) will probably be better served with a laser printer.

Print Speed – In terms of print speed, laser printers win hands down.  Most inkjet printers usually max out at 5-12 pages per minute, while a typical laser printer averages 22-26 pages per minute.  A high speed laser printer can go all the way up to 35 pages per minute.

Connectivity – A question that is commonly overlooked when choosing a printer is how it connects to the computer? Here are a couple of different organizer and calendar models that can help:

Planners and Calendars – These come in a huge variety of styles and types.  Some models are designed to fit in a small book while other styles are made to work on a desk top. Within those styles, calendars and planners can also be specific to a certain time period. For example, some models allow you to plan at a week level, a month level, or even a year level. I like the month view in most calendars as it gives me the opportunity to plan and prepare my schedule several weeks in advance.

Address Books – Different from a calendar, an address book (also called a telephone book) is specifically designed to house and store addresses and contact information. Most calendars don’t have enough room to meet this need, so address books are excellent for this use.

Appointment books – If your life involves a substantial number of meetings or appointments, you might be suited for an appointment or meeting book. Slightly different from a calendar or planner, appointment books are designed to record a number of events or meetings in a single day, single week, or single month. You can select the time period (daily, weekly, monthly) that best suits your schedule. Adjustable armrests may not seem all that important, but they have been shown to play a significant role in reducing carpal tunnel syndrome as you can adjust the arm height to match your desk height.

Adjustable set height probably sounds kind of elementary in terms of features, but it’s equally important. Adjustable seat height gives you the ability of choosing a seat height that works for you. This in turn, allows your legs to absorb some of your overall body weight; which reduces the amount of compression and stress on your lower back. Fixed height seats force the user to adjust his or her legs under or away from the chair, which impacts posture and places unnecessary weight on the lower spine.
